Gnosis in the Modern Sense
(An exegesis regarding the Gnostic Concepts within our Modern World)Gnosis in the ordinary sense happens to be a name-tag for a very strange and weird form of Christianity sotospeak. It is very easy to find information about it, but if you thereby happen to become clueless regarding what the hey the whole thing is actually about ... well - don't expect me to tell you what that is supposed to be because I don't really get it either! I mean - maybe I do - but in regards to that I have to say that it actually is something else! And as it is what it is not - yea, it is as it is - it is difficult to understand what it is if you try to understand what it is not! I can however not say what it is per se, because that isn't really what it is, true and sound, either!
In simplicity though Gnosis does say as much as 'Recognition' or 'Insight' in regards to "Cognition alias Gnosis".
Gnosis in the Modern sense isn't just an Update of all the things that "Ancient" Gnosis is about! In some regard it is as different from anything that it could need to be introduced entirely independent from everything, but it still is matter of fact 'Gnosis', 'Gnosis' as in the ancient sense. Therefore the "scientific flair" drops a little bit short. However ...
To begin with the Ancient
Thinking of Gnosis, it is a Religion that existed during a time-period where Science was vastly a matter of Math and Philosophy. The idea or desire - "we don't know what it 'was'" - to gain 'salvation through Gnosis (alias Cognition)' does to a modern day Christian however sound like a bad joke. Salvation comes through Christ only. Without the Christian background however - Gnosis is just what every human being nowadays would be striving for - given that the individual does have intellectual ideals that aren't just and simply self-destructuve. So: Salvation through Cognition.
The bold idea to just "plop" - period - by getting some magical insight or whatever - to sotospeak "think yourself into ... Wherever" - that is what it sounds like though. Alongside there are those Gnostic figures, dieties, hierarchies, origins - it is so weird that I must think that it was designed to be weird!
So ... I tried!
In reality though I "think I" have a very deep, thorough and complete understanding of what Gnosis is! So, let me stop arguing like a scientist or philosopher and start to just argue like ... some that knows! I mean - there is a significant difference. The philosopher or scientist has to look at the matter and expand on it. Now that we would have to look at Gnosis - that is like ... I actually would like to keep dirty words out of the text, but so, yea, it's --- not reasonable! Besides I constantly have that mind-aching pain to just get to what I want to say but instead am making a moron of myself!
The Reason why Modern Gnosis is and is not the same as Ancient Gnosis
