UNIFICATION WITH THE ALL-SURROUNDING SPIRIT

Agnostic Counterstance

1. The (neo) Gnostic Problem

Gnosis (insight/recognition/cognition) demands the individual to acquire the insight necessary. It is possible that it is due to this that the classic Symbol for gnosticism is a snake biting its own tail.
When we thus speak of Gnostic concepts, the conference varies depending on whether we're talking to another Gnostic or to an Agnostic.

In the (neo Gnostic) sense a more accurate explenation, well aware of the fact that these words are directed to not(yet)Gnostics, is right away a (neo) Gnostic introduction to Christendom.
Although one can redeem the term 'Gnosticism' from the demand of being Christian, one cannot redeem the 'Christian Gnosis' from reality/existence! In that sense are Christian Gnostics the bane/pain-in-the-arse when it gets to arguments - because we simply put impose by labelling ourselves as Gnostics that the Christian Gnosis is a thing - period/end-of-the-line.
But fear not - being politically correct it isn't a religious problem; Its simply a case-example in matters of explaining the 'concept'.

Starting off with the general idea that one cannot proof or disproof the existence of God, the Gnostic (Christian) begs to differ! Simply put: If God does exist He can reveal Himself - and where this revelation leads to Gnostic recognition, Gnostic Christendom becomes a thing!
Now yea do Gnostic Christians sortof claim that their own existence is already proof for God if you want to take it that far, but part of Gnosticism is to see that this alone cannot be used as argument! More so is it a part of Gnosticism to then help those that don't see it yet to get there!

2. Christian Gnosticism - old and new

Please do not refer to any common model of 'Gnosis/Gnosticism' when it comes to me here - as what I'm about is simply put an independent usage of the word 'Gnosis' in terms to explain; Although "the meta" is definitely the same! ("the meta": The fundamental idea(l)s are found(ed) within ancient Gnostic writings).

In the old (perhaps thats just how modern science interpreted given sources; Or how it was left to be understood) sense, Gnosics meant to 'find salvation by means of Gnosis'; Which - as I initially learned/was-led-to-believe - stands to contradict the belief of 'salvation through baptism'.
To the Gnosic 'Core' however this is misleading information: One would get to find the significance of Baptism through the Gnosis of Christs Atonement!

Although these thoughts can be lifted onto a Scholasticistic Level of thought it isn't intended that way. The Gnosis of Christs Atonement is a mitigation of the entirety of Christs Legacy; And the neo-Gnostic footing is one closer to Pragmatism.
The reason is simple: The scholastic knowledge of Christs Atonement doesn't give me the insight I need in order to know that it is true. Further is any argumentation about its "divine soundness" more or less subjective (while it is yet true that the Divine Logic does in-deed stand out and keep standing out - independently and in comparison) - and that ties into 'neo Gnosis' as a link into Mormonism.

The Mormon view is: That in order to know the "True Church" (the mormon authority is derived from the concept of '(legit) Priesthood') we have to ask God (for a Testimony); And hence the 'God Question', in neo-Gnosticism, does revolve a whole lot around properly embracing this idea!
"If there is a God [...] - the answer is Legit" - and that answer is the 'fundamental neo-Gnostic insight'; Practically "safing it to say" that an answer is already an evidence for God. Without this "generous presumption" though ...

3. Atheistic Gnosticism

In essence the one reason why Atheistic Gnosticism isn't a thing is the nature of the problem that we cannot disproof the existence of something that doesn't exist. So is it a philosophical matter that existence already provides the immanence of a God, who only will need to be found (as a solid matter of the Human mangle who is born without knowledge).

This 'inherantly existent quest' is what we may call 'the pre-gnostic void'. Simply: Before the cognition is born, there is no point for Gnosticism to exist as it so simply were/is: (natural) Science(s) (until then).

4. Unification and Enlightenment

The fundamental neo-Gnostic insight is a God-given one. That is the paradigm; And so is it the goal the individual is to independently make his own to acquire this one insight that is beyond flaws! So is it not any humans place to tell exactly which qualities this insight has to hold up to; Other than pointing out flaws within flawed expectations.

The basic rule is that the individual is to acquire the insight that has the quality of being a divine answer; Where the upper bar is practically implied through what Gnostics know about it - that it for instance is a menthal/spiritual thing. So it comes to the mind - opposing which one might want to expect a dragon to fly accross the sky or something of that magnitude.
So is it on the other end however safe to say that: Anything the human mind is capable of producing does not meet the standards of 'true Divine'! And that is something you then have to trust Gnostics at, who say that yes: There are things "beyond the horizon"!

So do I, as a Gnostic, encourage you to look for 'the true Divine' because I know it is there - and to flat out ignore anything that tells you that such doesn't exist though yet trying to teach you that it does!
'Wanting to believe' may be as unhelpful as 'not wanting to believe' - though it is just a tiny shift from there to 'wanting to know'. Because the pre-gnostic void is a void, it doesn't really bear any significance either. All you can really do therein is to ready your mind for the truth; So that you can be Agnostic/a-Gnostic-Atheist without any spoil - so not even God could blame you for it; So that for as long as you haven't seen the true divine, you can't tell that it is!

Once you have however found it; And that is also why it is a bit of a Mystery; The entire Christian legacy (the Testimony of God is a Christian one!) stands there before you - and to neo-Gnostic standards this legacy once properly understood implies a proper Baptism (priesthood) and the 'social demand' of Unification. Unification is the final step of that process - because to neo-Gnostic standards the human being isn't complete without the All-Surrounding Spirits divine acknowledgement of your entitlement to be 'one of us'!
